2. Wear and Corrosion Study of Plasma Nitriding F53 Super duplex Stainless Steel
Super duplex stainless steels (SDSS) have high corrosion resistance because of their high contents of chromium, nickel, molybdenum and nitrogen but low wear resistance. To improve the wear resistance of these steels without affecting their corrosion resistance, samples of SDSS were treated by plasma ion nitriding at temperatures ranging from 350 °C to 570

3. Effect of cleanser solutions on the color of acrylic resins associated with titanium and nickel-chromium alloys
This study evaluated the effect of cleanser solutions on the color of heat-polymerized acrylic resin (HPAR) and on the brightness of dental alloys with 180 immersion trials. Disk-shaped specimens were made with I) commercially pure titanium, II) nickel-chromium-molybdenum-titanium, III) nickel-chromium molybdenum, and IV) nickel-chromium-molybdenum beryllium

4. Determination of Ni(II) in metal alloys by spectrophotometry UV-Vis using dopasemiquinone
A spectrophotometric method was proposed for Ni(II) determination in alloys using a dopa-semiquinone (L-1) to form [Ni(II)(L1-)3]1-, ε = 9.3 x 10³ L mol-1 cm-1. The optimal conditions for the determination were: wavelength 590 nm, temperature 25 °C, reaction time 45 min and pH 7.5. The Beer's law was obeyed for nickel from 3.33 x 10-5 to 1.78 x 10-4 mol L

5. Avaliação da cor, corrosão e rugosidade superficial do titânio c.p., ligas metálicas e resina acrílica termopolimerizável sob a ação de soluções higienizadoras / Color, corrosion and surface roughness evaluation of titanium c.p., alloys and heat-polymerized acrylic resin under the action of daily hygiene solutions

6. ANÃLISE DE SISTEMAS DE IMPLANTES DENTÃRIOS EM MANDÃBULAS EDÃNTULAS COM APLICAÃÃO DE CARREGAMENTO IMEDIATO / Study of the systems of dental implantations for edentulous mandibula with immediate load
The present study aimed at obtaining comparative elements among the guided systems of fixed complete denture with 4 osseointegrated implants with immediate loading, considering the importance of understanding the implant project as a process where biomaterials and biomechanics are assessed. The three-dimensional finite element method was used to analyze the

7. Avaliação comparativa de propriedades geradas pelos processos de soldagem TIG e brasagem em uma liga odontológica à base de Ni-Cr / Comparative assessment of properties generated by the process of TIG welding and brazing in a Ni-Cr dental alloy
The purpose of this study was to compare, by means of microhardness testing and metallurgical characterization techniques as metallography, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), mechanical and metallurgical properties of welded joints by TIG and brazing methods in a dental alloy based on Ni-Cr (FIT-C

8. Estudo Experimental da Difusão do Níquel no Cr2O3 por Espectrometria de Massa de Íons Secundários
Many industrial alloys, that are submited the high temperatures, contain the element chromium, that it oxidates preferential forming a very adherent film. This film acts as a barrier of protection against the corrosion of the alloys in oxidant environment. Example of these alloys is the stainless steel and other alloys contend chromium and nickel. The interp

9. AVALIAÇÃO IN VITRO DA LIBERAÇÃO DE ÍONS E DAS ALTERAÇÕES DE SUPERFÍCIE DE MINI-IMPLANTES ORTODÔNTICOS / AVALIAÇÃO IN VITRO DA LIBERAÇÃO DE ÍONS E DAS ALTERAÇÕES DE SUPERFÍCIE DE MINI-IMPLANTES ORTODÔNTICOS
Mini-implants are successfully used as anchorage devices in orthodontics. The miniimplants alloys are subject to corrosion process in the oral environment. The metallic ions release may lead to adverse physiological effects, including citotoxicity, genotoxicity, carcinogenesis and allergic reactions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ions release and

11. In vitro and in vivo electrochemical studies of nickel-chromium-molybdenum-titanium alloy applied to oral implant suprastructures / Estudos eletroquímicos in vitro e in vivo da liga níquelcromomolibdênio titânio aplicada em supraestruturas de implantes orais
The electrochemical behavior of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum-titanium (Ni-Cr-Mo-Ti) alloy was studied and compared to a gold-platinum-palladium (Au-Pt-Pd) alloy in 0.15 mol.L -1 NaCl medium at 36.5ºC. In vitro studies also involved the electrochemical titanium characterization since these alloys are employed in osseointegrated implant suprastructures. In

12. Oxidation - Nitridation of Ni-Cr-Al alloys
A series of alloys containing 24-36 wt pct Cr and 13.5 - 25.0 wt pct Al was reacted with air at 1100°C for 260 h. The products of isothermal reaction were scales of a-Al2O3 plus small amounts of Cr2O3. These grew according to parabolic kinetics, interrupted by episodic weight losses caused by partial spallation. No nitridation occurred during the isothermal
