1. Evaluation of Global Heating Reduction Potential with the Replacement of Electricity Supplied by the Local Concessionaire Via Solar Renewable Source.
Abstract The objective of this paper is to evaluate, through the 100-year Life Cycle Analysis, Global Warming Potential (GWP) and Global Temperature Increasing Potential (GTP) impact categories. It is proposed scenario of replacement of the energy matrix for the supply of electricity by Solar Photovoltaic, adopting as consumption base the facilities of Supe

2. Welfare and spatial distribution of noise levels in swine nursery

4. Effect of sawdust as porosity agent on final properties of geopolymers
Abstract The geopolymers synthesis are based on geopolymerization, a sequence of reactions processed in an alkaline medium through oligomers providing a three-dimensional molecular structure. In this work, the polycondensation of metakaolin was performed with alkaline activators (NaOH and sodium silicate), wood sawdust and other additives. Two different comp

5. Alternative class III distributed polysomnography system
Abstract Introduction Impairment of sleep quality directly increases the risk of heart attack, obesity, and stroke, among other conditions, which makes polysomnography (PSG) an important public health tool. However, the inherent problems with PSG render the correct diagnosis of sleep diseases a difficult task. As a novel alternative to the class II PSG sys

6. Electrochemical Noise for Detection of Stress Corrosion Cracking of Low Carbon Steel Exposed to Synthetic Soil Solution
In the last years, electrochemical noise (EN) has demonstrate that is capable of detect the initiation of cracks during the slow strain rate tests (SSRT). In this research, EN has been used as a tool to detect stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in low carbon steel (X52) exposed to a synthetic soil solution called NS4 at room temperature with pH of 5, 8 and 10.

7. A flat-gain LNA based on LTCC technology at UHF (300-500 MHz)
Abstract This paper presents a design and simulation of a low noise amplifiers (LNA) with all passives elements embedded on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate. Simulation results in ANSYS Designer and CST Studio Suite reveal that the proposed LNA has a flat-gain of 23.34 dB from 300 to 500 MHz, a noise figure below 0.73 dB and a compact size o

8. Comportamiento a la Corrosión del Acero API X70 Soldado por el Proceso de Doble Arco Sumergido Inmerso en Diferentes Medios Corrosivos
Abstract The steels API X70 are applied in construction and fabrication of pipeline for transport of hydrocarbons, however, to lapse time are degrade due to environment to which are exposed, influencing on mode and corrosion rate on surface base metal (BM), heat zone affected (HAZ) and fusion zone (FZ). In order to know and evaluate the corrosion susceptibi

9. Characterization of polyurethan skin agglomerates for acoustic insulation from impact noise
Polymeric materials are greatly used in industry due to their versatility in application generating therefore, large quantities of solid waste. Population growth in urban areas, with living quarters mainly in residential buildings, face discomfort caused by noise, particularly by impact noise. Aiming at reducing the amount of polymeric material disposed of i

10. An inverse model for locating skin tumours in 3D using the genetic algorithm with the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method
Here, the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method is used to solve the 3D Pennes Bioheat Equation, which together with a Genetic Algorithm, produces an inverse model capable of obtaining the location and the size of a tumour, having as data input the temperature distribution measured on the skin surface. Given that the objective function, which is solved in

11. The level of environmental noise affects the physiological performance of Glycine max under water deficit
Plants in natural environments are subjected to a multitude of environmental cues. However, studies addressing physiological analyzes are usually focused on the isolation of a stress factor, making it difficult to understand plants behavior in their extremely complex natural environments. Herein, we analyzed how environmental variability (noise) may influenc
