1. A systematic review of smartphone applications and devices for obstructive sleep apnea
Abstract Objective: Sleep is fundamental for both health and wellness. The advent of “on a chip” and “smartphone” technologies have created an explosion of inexpensive, at-home applications and devices specifically addressing sleep health and sleep disordered breathing. Sleep-related smartphone Applications and devices are offering diagnosis, manage

2. Constraint-driven test scheduling for NoC-based systems
On-chip integrated network, the so-called networkon- chip (NoC), is becoming a promising communication paradigm for the next-generation embedded core-based system chips. The reuse of the on-chip network as test access mechanism has been recently proposed to handle the growing complexity of testing NoC-based systems. However, the NoC reuse is limited by the o

3. A high-fault-coverage approach for the test of data, control, and handshake interconnects in mesh networks-on-chip
A novel strategy for detecting interconnect faults between distinct channels in networks-on-chip is proposed. Short faults between distinct channels in the data, control, and communication handshake wires are considered in a cost-effective test sequence for mesh NoC topologies based on XY routing.

4. Wear, friction, and microhardness of a thermal sprayed PET: poly (ethylene terephthalate) coating
The effects of combustion thermal spraying parameters namely combustion pressure, feeding rate, and carrier gas on the wear resistance, friction coefficient, and Knoop hardness of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films were investigated. The PET coatings were characterized by measuring the wear coefficients by calowear-type testing, the friction coefficie

6. Protecting digital circuits against hold time violations due to process variations

7. A robust and scalable microfluidic metering method that allows protein crystal growth by free interface diffusion
Producing robust and scalable fluid metering in a microfluidic device is a challenging problem. We developed a scheme for metering fluids on the picoliter scale that is scalable to highly integrated parallel architectures and is independent of the properties of the working fluid. We demonstrated the power of this method by fabricating and testing a microflui

8. Single-nucleotide polymorphism genotyping on optical thin-film biosensor chips
Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) constitute the bulk of human genetic variation and provide excellent markers to identify genetic factors contributing to complex disease susceptibility. A rapid, sensitive, and inexpensive assay is important for large-scale SNP scoring. Here we report the development of a multiplex SNP detection system using silicon chi

9. From DNA biosensors to gene chips
Wide-scale DNA testing requires the development of small, fast and easy-to-use devices. This article describes the preparation, operation and applications of biosensors and gene chips, which provide fast, sensitive and selective detection of DNA hybridization. Various new strategies for DNA biosensors and gene chips are examined, along with recent trends and

10. Genome-Wide Identification and Testing of Superior Reference Genes for Transcript Normalization in Arabidopsis1[w]
Gene transcripts with invariant abundance during development and in the face of environmental stimuli are essential reference points for accurate gene expression analyses, such as RNA gel-blot analysis or quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR). An exceptionally large set of data from Affymetrix ATH1 whole-genome GeneChip studies p
