1. ORGANOCLORATED AND ORGANOPHOSPHORUS PESTICIDES IN THE PELOTAS RIVER SEDIMENT
ABSTRACT Aquatic sediments are widely used for the evaluation of anthropogenic contamination due to their ability to adsorb particles and contaminants, making them historical environmental archives. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the contamination of the Pelotas River sediments, at the border between the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do S

2. Detection of Organochlorine Compounds Formed During the Contact of Sodium Hypochlorite with Dentin and Dental Pulp

3. Prà e PÃs-Tratamento por Eletro-OxidaÃÃo Associada à FotocatÃlise HeterogÃnea em uma ETA por FiltraÃÃo Direta Visando a ReduÃÃo dos Precursores dos Compostos Organoclorados / Pre and Post-Treatment by Electro-Oxidation Associated with Heterogeneous Photocatalysis on an ETA for direct filtration Aiming to Reduce Precursors of Organochlorine Compounds
This study evaluated the performance of the heterogeneous photocatalysis combined with electrooxidation compounding a hybrid photoreactor (contact time: 2.75; 5.5 and 11 min.) to pre-treat eutrophic water, comparing the use of chlorine (5 and 10 mg.L-1) and chlorine dioxide (1.2 mg.L-1), subjected to descending direct filtration (aluminum hydroxychloride at

4. DeterminaÃÃo de Micropoluentes Emergentes em Esgoto SanitÃrio, Hospitalar e Ãguas Superficiais / Determination of Emerging Micropollutants in Sewage, and Surface Water Hospital

5. Acumulação de compostos organoclorados (PCBs, DDTs e HCB) em tecido hepático de delfinídeos (Cetacea, Mammalia) do Estado do Rio de Janeiro / Organochlorine compounds accumulation (PCBs, DDTs and HCB) in hepatic tissue of delphinids (Cetacea, Mammalia) from Rio de Janeiro State
Over the past decades the research on marine organisms contamination by organochlorine compounds (OCs) has been intensified, allied to the utilization of some species as sentinels of the environmental quality related to organic pollutants. Among these species, cetaceans stand out as animals that, between other characteristics, have great longevity, high lipi

6. Poluentes orgânicos persistentes na biota marinha do Arquipélago de São Pedro e São Paulo / Persistents Organic Pollutants in marine biota of the São Pedro e São Paulo Archipelago
Some oceanic islands, such as São Pedro e São Paulo Archipelago may be considered remote areas and preserved due to its distance from the mainland. However, these areas are not exempt from the influence of anthropogenic agents from coastal regions, such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This proposal aimed to determine the occurrence and distributio

7. O uso do boto-cinza (Sotalia guianensis) como sentinela da poluição continental por compostos organoclorados (DDT, PCB, HCH, HCB e Mirex) em baías costeiras do Estado do Rio de Janeiro / The use of the Guiana dolphin (Sotalia guianensis) as sentinel environmental pollution by organochlorine compounds (DDT, PCB, HCH, HCB and Mirex) coastal bays in the State of rio de Janeiro

8. Co-metabolism of DDT by the newly isolated bacterium, Pseudoxanthomonas sp. wax
Microbial degradation of 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)ethane (DDT) is the most promising way to clean up DDT residues found in the environment. In this paper, a bacterium designated as wax, which was capable of co-metabolizing DDT with other carbon sources, was isolated from a long-term DDT-contaminated soil sample by an enrichment culture techniqu

9. DESENVOLVIMENTO DE MÉTODO MULTIRESIDUAL PARA ANÁLISE DE PESTICIDAS EM MEL, UTILIZANDO CROMATOGRAFIA A LÍQUÍDO COM DETECTOR ESPECTROFOTOMÉTRICO COM ARRANJO DE DIODOS / MULTIRESIDUAL METHOD DEVELOPMENT TO ANALYSIS OF PESTICIDES IN HONEY, USING LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETECTOR WITH ARRANGEMENT OF DIODES
Honey is a product of proven therapeutic and nutritional properties, and which may act as an excellent bioindicator, given the way the bees gather and process the raw material used in its preparation. The monitoring of pesticide residues in honey is important both to control product quality in domestic and international markets, and in assessing the potentia

10. Ocorrência de Pesticidas Organoclorados e Bifenilos Policlorados em tartarugas marinhas Chelonia mydas / Occurrence of organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls in sea turtles Chelonia mydas
Organochlorine compounds, such as pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), are persistent, toxics and widely distributed due to the atmospheric transport and oceanic currents. Few studies have reported the occurrence of these compounds in turtles, but none from the Brazilian Coast. Chelonia mydas is the biggest marine turtle with hard carapace that e

11. Determinação de resíduos de agrotóxicos em mel de abelhas (Apis sp.) por cromatografia gasosa acoplada à espectrometria de massas
Among the problems concerning the quality of honey, are the physical and chemical characteristics, the identification of the floral and geographical origin, the occurrence of adulteration and contamination, especially with antibiotics and pesticides. The adequacy of these features to existing laws in the country makes the product more competitive for the exp

12. Organochlorine pesticides in Piracicaba river basin (São Paulo/Brazil): a survey of sediment, bivalve and fish
The main objective of this paper was to evaluate the level of occurrence of the organochlorine compounds in samples of sediments, bivalves and two fish species collected in the Piracicaba River basin (São Paulo, Brazil). The isomers alpha and gamma of HCH and Heptachlor were most frequently detected in samples of sediments and specimens of bivalve and fish.
