1. Linseed Oil Nanoemulsion with Pluronic® F127 Loaded with Betulinic Acid: Preparation, Rheology, MTT Assay and in vitro Release Kinetics
The main objective of this work was to develop a nanoemulsion based on linseed oil and betulinic acid, stabilized with Pluronic F127 and polyglycerol polyricinoleate, for anticancer applications. The nanoemulsions were synthesized by ultrasound and evaluated for in vitro cytotoxicity, particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, morphology, encapsula

2. Anthelmintic effect of Cymbopogon citratus essential oil and its nanoemulsion on sheep gastrointestinal nematodes

3. DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATED METHOD TO PERFORM A QUANTITATIVE STUDY OF PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION AND THE EFFECT OF A CONDUCTIVE LAYER IN SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY
The determination of particle size distribution is an important parameter for controlling industrial processes, particularly in the field of pharmaceuticals. It is also an important parameter for characterizing nanoparticles. The best technique for determining particle size distribution is scanning electron microscopy. The process of counting particles is ty

4. Soil Water Retention Curve as Affected by Sample Height
ABSTRACT: The soil water retention curve is one of the main instruments to assess the soil physical quality and to improve soil management. Traditionally, the equipment most used in the laboratory to determine the retention curve has been Haines funnels and Richards chambers. An important factor to which little attention has been given in the use of these eq

5. Satellite Spectral Data on the Quantification of Soil Particle Size from Different Geographic Regions
ABSTRACT: The study of soils, including their physical and chemical properties, is essential for agricultural management. Soil quality must be maintained to ensure sustainable production of food and conservation of natural resources. In this context, soil mapping is important to provide spatial information, which can be performed using remote sensing (RS) te

6. Mechanical characterization of PM aluminum composites by small punch test
ABSTRACT In this work Small Punch Test (SPT) was applied to study the mechanical behavior of ultrafine-grained Al-Al2O3metal matrix composites (MMCs) fabricated in situ via powder metallurgy route (HITEMAL®). Such MMCs show attractive mechanical properties, enhanced creep performance and increased thermal stability at elevated temperatures, not normally ass

7. Photocatalytic Performance of Titanates with Formula MTiO3 (M= Fe, Ni, and Co) Synthesized by Solvo-Combustion Method
This work reports the synthesis of a variety of materials with an ilmenite-type structure MTiO3 formula, where M= Fe, Co, and Ni, these materials were synthesized by the method of solvo-combustion, a simple and rapid method. These materials were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetri

8. Decomposição ácida assistida por ultrassom para a determinação de Cu, Fe, Mg e Zn por F AAS em cerâmicas de uso doméstico
This paper describes a sample preparation method for domestic ceramics, based on the acid decomposition assisted by ultrasound for further determination of Cu, Fe, Mg and Zn by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry technique. The main optimized conditions were: particle size (25 µm); sample mass (25 mg) and the acid volume (0.5 mL of HNO3 and 0.5 mL of HF).

9. Synthesis, Optical Characterization, and Size Distribution Determination by Curve Resolution Methods of Water-Soluble CdSe Quantum Dots
In this work a colloidal approach to synthesize water-soluble CdSe quantum dots (QDs) bearing a surface ligand, such as thioglycolic acid (TGA), 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA), glutathione (GSH), or thioglycerol (TGH) was applied. The synthesized material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-visibl

10. Impact of particle size, thermal processing, fat inclusion, and moisture addition on starch gelatinization of broiler feeds
The present study evaluated the effect of feed particle size, thermal processing different levels of fat inclusion and of moisture addition on the amount of gelatinized starch in a corn-soybean broiler diet. The different processing factors were combined in a 2 x 4 x 4 x 2 factorial arrangement in a three randomized block design consisting of three productio

11. Valores de referência para metais potencialmente tóxicos em sedimentos e em moluscos filtradores no Rio Ribeira de Iguape / Reference values to potentially toxic metals in sediments and mussels in the River Ribeira de Iguape
The Ribeira do Iguape River Basin (RIRB) was historically influenced by intense mining activities mainly related to lead (Pb) extraction. For many decades, such exploitation was conducted under rudimentary conditions without control of environmental impacts produced during the stages of ore extraction and beneficiation. Thus, mining wastes and metallurgical

12. Fractal analysis of agricultural nozzles spray
Fractal scaling of the exponential type is used to establish the cumulative volume (V) distribution applied through agricultural spray nozzles in size x droplets, smaller than the characteristic size X. From exponent d, we deduced the fractal dimension (Df) which measures the degree of irregularity of the medium. This property is known as 'self-similarity'.
