1. Utilization of ferronickel slag in hot mix asphalt
Abstract The growing concern in minimizing the disorderly disposal of waste in nature has been influencing measures that seek to give new environmentally sustainable and economically viable purposes for these materials. The use of steel slag aggregate in road paving emerges as an alternative for reducing the storage of this material in industrial yards, as w

2. COMPARISON BETWEEN ASPHALTENES (SUB)FRACTIONS EXTRACTED FROM TWO DIFFERENT ASPHALTIC RESIDUES: CHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION AND PHASE BEHAVIOR
Asphaltenes are blamed for various problems in the petroleum industry, especially formation of solid deposits and stabilization of water-in-oil emulsions. Many studies have been conducted to characterize chemical structures of asphaltenes and assess their phase behavior in crude oil or in model-systems of asphaltenes extracted from oil or asphaltic residues

3. Terpanos pentacíclicos como indicadores de heterogeneidades composicionais em reservatório de petróleo biodegradado
Reservoir geochemistry has been effectively used to evaluate compositional heterogeneity in petroleum reservoirs by employing oil fingerprinting technique to assess reservoir continuity, primarily in paraffin oil accumulations. In-reservoir biodegradation has resulted in vast deposits of heavy oils globally; therefore, the application of reservoir geochemist

4. ESTUDO DA FORMAÇÃO DE DEPÓSITOS INORGÂNICOS EM CAMPOS PETROLÍFEROS. / STUDY OF FORMATION OF INORGANIC DEPOSITS IN PETROLEUM FIELDS.

Petroleum biodegradation in reservoirs is a process caused by different microorganisms affecting many oil deposits which modifies the oil composition in a quasi-stepwise process starting from n-alkanes and isoprenoids through to diasteranes. This causes oil souring and increased viscosity, sulfur and metal content, having a direct impact on oil production an

6. Estudo do jateamento em solos argilosos e sua aplicação à engenharia de fundações offshore / Study of water jets in clay and its application to offshore foundation engineering design
Most of all petroleum produced in Brazil is encountered in marine deposits where the water depth may exceed 1000 meters. Recent discoveries of new offshore oil fields have motivated studies in this area designed to develop new techniques applied to oil exploration. For the extraction of oil deposits floating platforms are commonly used, supported by anchorag

7. Regeneração natural das clareiras antrópicas da Província Petrolífera de Urucu-Coari, AM / Natural regeneration of the anthropogenic gaps of Urucu Petroleum Province Urucu-Coari/AM
We studied the environmental variables and species composition in natural regeneration in 10 anthropogenic clearings in the Urucu Petroleum Province (Urucu-Coari/AM). We used the methodology typical of phytosociological surveys, analyzed Soil samples and measured the distance between the clearings and the edge of the forest. We used Canonical Correspondence

8. Obtenção do carboneto de silício pela redução carbotérmica da sílica / SYNTHESIS OF SILICION CARBIDE BY CARBOTHERMAL REDUCTION OF SILICA
The production of silicon carbide (SiC) in an industrial scale still by carbothermal reduction of silica . This study aims to identify, in a comparative way, among the common reducers like petroleum coke, carbon black, charcoal and graphite the carbothermal reduction of silica from the peat. It is shown, that the peat, also occurs in nature together with hig

9. Análise de modelos geológicos utilizando percolação dinâmica
In the present study we elaborated algorithms by using concepts from percolation theory which analyze the connectivity conditions in geological models of petroleum reservoirs. From the petrophysical parameters such as permeability, porosity, transmittivity and others, which may be generated by any statistical process, it is possible to determine the portion

11. DETERMINING THE START OF PRECIPITATION ASPHALTENES IN BRAZILIAN CRUDE OIL AND THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE STABILITY IN CRUDE OILS MIXTURES / DETERMINAÇÃO DO INÍCIO DE PRECIPITAÇÃO DOS ASFALTENOS EM PETRÓLEOS BRASILEIROS E IMPLICAÇÕES NA ESTABILIDADE DE MISTURAS DE PETRÓLEOS
The crude oil can be understood as a mixture sufficiently polydisperse where its diverse components form a dispersion and/or solution whose original state can be modified in function of variations of temperature, pressure and composition causing, for example, the formation of organic deposits. The asphaltene constitutes heavy fractions of oils with great cap

12. Geographical Coincidence of High Heat Flow, High Seismicity, and Upwelling, with Hydrocarbon Deposits, Phosphorites, Evaporites, and Uranium Ores
Oil deposits occur in deep sediments, and appear to be organic matter that has been transformed through the action of geothermal heat and pressure. Deep sediments, rich in biological remains, are created by ocean upwelling, caused in part by high geothermal heat flow through the sea bottom. Such regions correlate with enhanced seismic activity. We look for c
