1. Synthesis of 1,2,3-Triazole Derivatives of Hydnocarpic Acid Isolated from Carpotroche brasiliensis Seed Oil and Evaluation of Antiproliferative Activity
Carpotroche brasiliensis is a tree native to Brazil, belonging to the family Flacurtiaceae, whose seeds contain a group of cyclopentenyl fatty acids: gorlic (12%), chaulmugric (27%), and hydnocarpic (48.7%). These compounds are considered the main therapeutic agents in the treatment of leprosy. In the present study, a series of novel triazole compounds were

2. Unraveling the Role of Π - Conjugation in Thiophene Oligomers for Optoelectronic Properties by DFT/TDDFT Approach
ABSTRACT Thiophene oligomer has been investigated using DFT/TDDFT calculations with an aim to check its suitability for opto electronic applications and also to analyse the influence of π-bridge. Our results revealed that thiophene oligomers have excellent π-conjugation throughout. FMO analysis give an estimate of band gap of thiophene oligomer and further

3. Development and characterization of hybrids from native wine yeasts
For commercial purposes, the winemaking industry is constantly searching for new yeast strains. Historically, this has been achieved by collecting wild strains and selecting the best for industrial use through an enological evaluation. Furthermore, the increasing consumer demands have forced the industry to incorporate new strategies such as genetic engineer

4. Influência do diabetes mellitus gestacional na disposição cinética e metabolismo estereosseletivos do labetalol em pacientes com hipertensão arterial / Influence of gestational diabetes mellitus on the kinetic disposition and stereoselective metabolism of labetalol in patients with arterial hypertension,
Labetalol, a hypertensive agent considered to be safe for use by pregnant women, is clinically available as a mixture of two racemates, with the (R,R) isomer being a antagonist and the (S,R) isomer being responsible for the blocking activity. The study investigated the influence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) on the kinetic disposition and stereosele

5. Estudo e aplicações do fenômeno de absorção de dois fótons em moléculas azo-aromáticas / Studies and applications of two-photon absorption in azo-aromatic molecules
Here we investigated fundamental and applied aspects of the two-photon absorption process in azoaromatic compounds. Azoaromatic molecules have been studied in the last few years due to their applications in optical storage devices, light modulators and surface relief gratings, processes related to the photo-isomerization mechanism. The main focus of the resu

6. Theoretical study of the internal elimination of xanthates using ONIOM additivity and pseudopotentials / Estudo teorico do mecanismo de eliminação interna de xantatos usando o metodo aditivo de energia atraves de ONIOM com pseudopotencial
The gas-phase internal elimination (Ei) reaction of xanthates and the decomposition of xanthic acid have been investigated using ONIOM Additivity Expression and Pseudopotential, ONIOM[CCSD(T)/CEP-311 (2d,f):MP2/CEP-31G//MP2/CEP-31G]. The higest leveI representation was calculated by means of CCSD(T)/CEP-31G and electronics and sterics effects by MP2/CEP-31G.

7. ATTITUDES, PERCEPTION OF QUALITY OF LIFE IS PHYSICAL CONDITIONING WITH PEOPLE IN THE THIRD AGE. / "Atitudes, percepção de qualidade de vida e condicionamento físico com pessoas na terceira idade".
The technological development comes reducing the physical effort in the last decades, demanding less from the organism, taking the people to be sedentary. This has been determining an increase in the life expectation, causing a great number of retired people that you/they need to be reintegrated the community. The phenomenon of the aging has been researchers

8. Estrutura eletronica de polimeros conjugados : a influencia da desordem
The present work is dedicated to the theoretical study of effects observed in organic conjugated polymers in which disorder plays an important role. The following problems have been chosen for study: (1) Chemical reaction of polyanilines in acidic solutions. It is well known that protonation doping leads to insulator-to-metal transition in some forms of poly

9. Phase conjugation and transverse self-phase modulation in Cr+3 doped crystals / Conjugação de fase e modulação transversal de fase em cristais dopados com Cr+3
In this work we studied theoretical and experimentally the effects of Phase Conjugation by Degenerate Four Wave Mixing and Transversal Phase (PCD4WM) Modulation in Cr+3 doped crystals. We studied the PDC4WM in Al2O3:Cr+3 (ruby) and GdAlO3:Cr+3 with on Ar laser (at λ= 514 nm) and obtained a good agreement between our experimental and theoretical results

10. Conjugação de fase por degenerada de quatro ondas em rubi e GdAlO3:Cr+3 / Phase conjugation by degenerate four-wave mixing in ruby and GdAlO3:Cr+3
We have studied the effect of Phase Conjugation by Degenerate Four Wave Mixing in Al2O3:Cr+3 (Rubi) and GdAlO3:Cr+3 with an Ar (λ=5145 Å). We obtained efficiency ?approximately? 4 times greater in GdAlO3:Cr+3 (where this work is original) than in Rubi and this have motivated us to investigate the physical properties that are important to explain th

11. Observation of polarization-gate based reconstruction quality improvement during the process of turbidity suppression by optical phase conjugation
We present experiments that study the impact of polarization selection on the phenomenon of turbidity suppression by optical phase conjugation. Counter to intuition, we discovered that the preferential utilization of multiply scattered light field components over their sparsely scattered counterparts via appropriate polarization selection can lead to better

12. Variation of (1 leads to 3)-beta-glucanases in Saccharomyces cerevisiae during vegetative growth, conjugation, and sporulation.
The total (1 leads to 3)-beta-glucanase activities associated with cell extracts and cell walls of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were measured during vegetative growth, conjugation, and sporulation. Using a system of column chromatography, we resolved (1 leads to 3)-beta-glucanase activity into six different enzymes (namely, glucanases I, II, IIIA, IIIB, IV, and
