1. Evolução recente do terciario (serviços) no Brasil / Recent tertiary (services) evolution in Brazil
The following thesis discusses some issues on the role played by some specific kinds of services in economic development. Within Brazilian experience, the Tertiary Sector development was very significant in the context of recent economic restructuring. Through the 1990 s Brazilian national economy was a scenario of great transformation in which a few restruc

3. Santo André: (re) ordenação sócio espacial e implicações do período técnico-científico-informacional a partir dos anos 90 / Santo André city: the spatial rearrangement and the implications in the technical-scientific-informational period, structured in the 80s second half in the city

This work is a research about the policy of initial education of teachers made by the federal government, in the Brazilian educational view in the 1990s. It is based on that the procedures to the initial education of teachers are in a much bigger context of the productive rearrangement and of the reconstruction of the State and they have in the international

5. Adult B-cell repertoire is biased toward two heavy-chain variable-region genes that rearrange frequently in fetal pre-B cells.
Fetal pre-B cells rearrange a very restricted set of immunoglobulin variable genes for the heavy chain (VH). To determine whether the adult B-cell repertoire is similarly skewed, we first identified the genes that rearrange in pre-B cells from BALB/c mice and then determined their frequency of rearrangement in adult B cells. In fetal pre-B cell lines, two ge

6. Allelic exclusion in rat kappa immunoglobulin chains: extent of Jk rearrangement in normal B lymphocytes.
The frequency of normal rat peripheral B lymphocytes stained for surface immunoglobulin kappa allotypes a and b in (a X b) F1 heterozygotes was assessed by two-colour immunofluorescence on a fluorescence-activated cell sorter. The upper limit to the frequency of double- stainers was 8% among all kappa-positive cells, though it was not resolved how far cytoph

7. Corrective recombination of mouse immunoglobulin kappa alleles in Abelson murine leukemia virus-transformed pre-B cells.
Previous characterization of mouse immunoglobulin kappa gene rearrangement products cloned from murine plasmacytomas has indicated that two recombination events can take place on a single kappa allele (R. M. Feddersen and B. G. Van Ness, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 82:4792-4797, 1985; M. A. Shapiro and M. Weigert, J. Immunol. 139:3834-3839, 1987). To determin

8. Early expression of a T-cell receptor beta-chain transgene suppresses rearrangement of the V gamma 4 gene segment.
beta transgenic mice have a T-cell receptor beta-chain gene that is prematurely expressed on the surface of CD4- CD8- thymocytes and paired with an uncharacterized non-T-cell receptor alpha-chain polypeptide. The rearrangement of the T-cell receptor variable region gamma chain gene segment V gamma 4, a component of the gamma-chain gene that is rearranged and

9. Murine lambda gene rearrangements: the stochastic model prevails over the ordered model.
The ontogeny of the immunoglobulin (Ig) gene rearrangement in mammalian B cells seems to be ordered. Heavy chain gene segments rearrange first, followed by light chain gene segments, kappa before lambda. The genomic organization of murine lambda locus does not preclude the simultaneous expression of two subtypes from the same chromosome. In order to distingu

10. Allelic inclusion in a pre-B-cell line that generates immunoglobulin heavy chain genes in vitro.
In a pre-B-cell line that rearranges its heavy chain gene segments in vitro, we found that the rate of productive rearrangement on one allele was not influenced by the presence of heavy chain protein encoded by the other allele. This shows that allelic exclusion of heavy chain genes is not regulated at the genetic level.

11. Immunoglobulin synthesis and gene rearrangements in lymphoid cells transformed by replication-competent Rauscher murine leukemia virus: transformation of B cells at various stages of differentiation.
Lymphoid cells transformed by Rauscher murine leukemia virus (R-MuLV) belonged to the B cell lineages. One group of cells exhibited Fc receptors but completely lacked immunoglobulin mu heavy and kappa light chains. The majority of the cells resemble pre-B type. They displayed mu chains but kappa chains were completely absent. Very rarely certain cells synthe

12. Rearrangement and transcription of a T-cell receptor beta-chain gene in different T-cell subsets.
The functionally defined sets of T lymphocytes--helper T cells, cytotoxic T cells, and suppressor T cells--were examined for the possible involvement of a recently identified T-cell receptor beta gene locus in receptor formation. Since gene rearrangements are required for functional gene expression, cloned T-cell lines from each of the groups were surveyed f
