1. QTL mapping for yield components and agronomic traits in a Brazilian soybean population
Abstract The objective of this work was to map QTL for agronomic traits in a Brazilian soybean population. For this, 207 F2:3 progenies from the cross CS3035PTA276-1-5-2 x UFVS2012 were genotyped and cultivated in Viçosa-MG, using randomized block design with three replications. QTL detection was carried out by linear regression and composite interval mappi

2. Método de Haseman-Elston e suas modificações no estudo de genes controladores de característica quantitativa / Haseman-Elston methodology and modifications on the study genes underlining quantitative trait loci
QTL mapping allows to study loci that play a role in complex traits, as well to determine their chromosomal locations. For this purpose, a set of methods useful for the study of quantitative traits are those based on Haseman-EIston regression, that is quite used in human genetics. These are robustness regression methods for linkage analysis that can be used

4. Mapping and stability of QTLs for seed weight in common beans under different environments.
The objectives were: 1 - to identify, under different environments, RAPD markers linked to loci that control the 100 seed weight of common beans; 2 - to evaluate the existence of interactions involving QTL's with planting dates and locations; 3 - to compare detection procedures of markers linked to QTL's utilizing the methods of mapping and multiple regressi

6. Association mapping for yield and grain quality traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Association analysis was applied to a panel of accessions of Embrapa Rice Core Collection (ERiCC) with 86 SSR and field data from two experiments. A clear subdivision between lowland and upland accessions was apparent, thereby indicating the presence of population structure. Thirty-two accessions with admixed ancestry were identified through structure analys

Sugarcane has great economic importance to Brazil, which is worlds largest producer. Currently, sugarcane receives worldwide attention due to the economic and environmental issues generated by its main product, ethanol. In this context, there is a scenario of potential growth for the culture, in which breeding can contribute to the development of new cultiva

8. Estudo da herança dos caracteres stay-green, produção e seus componentes em milho utilizando o delineamento III e mapeamento de QTL / Inheritance study of stay-green, yield and its components in maize using the design III and QTL mapping
Maize is one of the most important agricultural activities in Brazil. The country is the third largest world producer and the yield rose from 1800 kg ha-1 to 3000 kg ha-1 in the last 15 years. The grain yield and drought tolerance are complex traits, difficult to select. A possibility to increase the efficiency of breeding programs that aims to improve the g

9. Análises biométricas e mapeamento de QTLS para tolerância à seca em milho / Biometric analysis and mapping of QTLS for drought tolerance in maize
One of the major goals of crop improvement is the increase in agricultural productivity associated with the improvement for the consumption in human or animal feeding. These goals can be achieved through improvements in environmental conditions or by improving the genetic potential of populations. Recently, much has been discussed about global warming, clima

10. Genética da resistência à murcha-de-ceratocystis (Ceratocystis fimbriata) em Eucalyptus spp / Genetics of ceratocystis wilt (Ceratocystis fimbriata) resistance in Eucalyptus spp

12. Detecção de locos de características quantitativas nos cromossomos 9 e 10 de suínos / Detection of quantitative trait loci on pig chromosome 9 and 10
QTL are statistical associations of a genomic region and the phenotypic variation between segregating populations. The variation in a quantitative trait of interest can be related with the genotype of a molecular marker if this marker is close and linked to quantitative trait loci (QTL). To identify these associations, the mapping of chromosomes 9 and 10 was
