The ratio relation 1:2 between rotation and wobbling frequencies of a torque free spinning plate or disc as seen from an inertial frame is calculated using a toy model for the disc. From a convenient rotating frame, the body oscillates as a pendulum in a centrifugal field, which simplifies the description of its movement. Thus, the ratio relation is simpler

2. KNEE ARTHROPLASTY REVISION WITH A CONSTRAINED IMPLANT USING HINGE AND ROTATING TIBIAL BASIS
ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the results of total knee arthoplasty revisions performed in high complexity cases, with large bone defects or serious ligament deficiencies using a constrained implant hinge associated to a rotating tibial basis. Methods: We evaluated 11 patients in which we used the constrained implant hinge associated to rotating tibial

This work presents the development of an centrifuge prototype for experiments with vegetables. Its main features are the high mechanical performance and instruments. In more details are presented the specification, implementation, validation and performance assessment through a case study. Its high speed and stability generates a vector component of centrifu

In this work the friction stir welding (FSW) process of stainless steel probes is modeled by a general propose finite element program, reproducing both thermal and material flow distribution. In the FSW process the equipment consist essentially of a rotating tool, which travel along the joint of two restricted plates. The union results from the frictional he

5. Analise numerica e experimental do cravamento de componentes mecanicos tubulares em haste com ponta esferica / Numerical and experimental analysis of tubular metallic parts indented with spherical punchs
Crimping is a cold metal forming process that presents low costs for use in holding tubular components. The type of crimping analyzed is used in projects of components that transmit rotating motion, such as joining systems of brake pedals. If the joining clearance, in this case, is less than 0,02mm the brake movement will be restrained and may not close the

6. "Resistência à fadiga cíclica flexural de instrumentos rotatórios de Ni-Ti em razão do uso e do torque" / Flexural cyclic fatigue resistance of NiTi rotatory instruments due to number of users and torque.
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the flexural cyclic fatigue resistance of nickel-titanium rotary instruments, number 25, taper 0,04, and length of 25mm (K3, SybronEndo), when submitted to several torque values and number of uses in simulated canal blocks, by using devices appropriated for dynamic tests. It was tried to detect whether, in additio

7. Adverse effects on dental surgeons? health and its correlations with motor equipment use / Efeitos adversos na saúde de cirurgiões-dentistas e suas correlações com o uso de equipamentos motores
This study aimed to identify adverse effects reported by dental surgeons (DS) and correlate them to the use of motor equipment. We carried out a non experimental cross-sectional research with quantitative data analysis. The study involved 247 DS who work in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. A self-applied questionnaire was used to assess the professionals. This instr

Study on the wear and the friction of a metallic pair under lubricated sliding.

9. Projeto e construção de equipamento eletromagnetico para a produção de materia-prima para tixoconformação de ligas metalicas / Design and development of an electromagnectic equipment for the production of raw material for thixoforming of metal alIoy
This work relates the design and development of an equipment capable of modifying the morphology of primary phase during solidification of metal alloys, differentiating such structures ftom those dendritic obtained in conventional solidification. In this process turbulence is imposed to the liquid metal by means of a external force with the purpose of modify

11. Symmetry mismatch and DNA packaging in large bacteriophages.
A model is presented for the mechanism of packaging double-stranded DNA into phage heads. The model is based on, and rationalizes, the mismatch in symmetry between the heads and tails of large bacteriophages. DNA movement is postulated to be mediated by a rotating protein structure at the tail-proximal vertex of the head.

12. Effects of the Timing of Flashes of Light during the Course of Cellular Rotation on Phototactic Orientation of Individual Cells of Cryptomonas
The swimming movement of Cryptomonas sp. cells generates a helical path, as a result of rotations with an average period of 500 milliseconds. When a flash of light at 570 nanometers for 20 microseconds was applied unidirectionally at intervals of 500 milliseconds, only a fixed side of each rotating cell was repeatedly exposed to the flashes of light. The rel
