1. Radiation Balance and Partitioning of Latent and Sensible Heat Fluxes Over a Lime Orchard in Eastern Amazon
Abstract We investigate the balance of radiation and energy over a lime orchard in Eastern Amazon and how it relates to environmental conditions. We found that lime trees aged between 6 and 7 years old reflect 11.0% to 14.5% of incoming shortwave radiation, and the latent heat flux corresponds to 57.6% and 66.6% of the daily net radiation in the dry season (

2. Erosion of the nocturnal boundary layer in the central Amazon during the dry season

3. Evaluation of OSEB and SEBAL models for energy balance of a crop area in a humid subtropical climate
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the adequacy of the One-Source Energy Balance (OSEB) and Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) models to estimate evapotranspiration in grain growing areas with humid subtropical climate in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. The dataset was obtained from a micrometeorological station (Eddy Covariance) and MODIS (Mod

4. GREEN ROOF: SIMULATION OF ENERGY BALANCE COMPONENTS IN RECIFE, PERNAMBUCO STATE, BRAZIL
ABSTRACT Green roof is a technology that consists of the use of soil and vegetation installed in the roof of buildings, being a great solution to combat heat islands. Thus, this study aimed to compare micrometeorological changes and their effect on the energy balance of non-vegetated (slab) and vegetated building roofs by means of a simulation model calculat

5. Energy balance partitioning and evapotranspiration from irrigated Muskmelon under Semi-Arid Conditions
ABSTRACT The Mossoró-Assu-Baraúna district, Rio Grande do Norte State (RN), is recognized by the intense production of horticulture, mainly muskmelon for export. However, this region is often devastated by intense droughts. Thus, the muskmelon production is predominantly under irrigated condition and, due to constant threat of water resources collapse on t

6. TURBULENT EXCHANGE OF SCALARS ABOVE AND WITHIN AN ARAUCARIA FOREST IN SOUTHERN BRAZIL / TROCAS TURBULENTAS DE ESCALARES ACIMA E NO INTERIOR DE UMA FLORESTA DE ARAUCÁRIA NO SUL DO BRASIL
Turbulent exchange of scalars is analyzed for a year of turbulence data, above and within an Araucaria Forest in southern Brazil. Sensible and latent heat fluxes, as well as CO2 fluxes are calculated by the eddy covariance method and analyzed in terms of the seasonal variation of their daily cycles. Diurnal and nocturnal vertical velocity spectra, sensible a

Marandu localizada na região central do cerrado (Planaltina - GO). O estudo foi realizado de 15/11 a 09/12/2001, inicio da esta

9. Water and energy fluxes in cowpea and castor beans cultivated in northeast Brazil / Fluxos de Ãgua e de energia em feijÃo macassar e mamona no nordeste do Brasil
The castor beans and cowpea are crops of enormous economic and social importance for the farmers in northeast Brazil, whereas the extracted oil of seeds of castor beans is used for production of biodiesel and the cowpea is the main food for poor population. Independent of crop type, the knowledge of water amount removed from soil by vegetation is of great in

10. EVAPOTRANSPIRAÇÃO DA MELANCIA IRRIGADA POR MEIO DO SEBAL, BALANÇO HÍDRICO E CORRELAÇÕES TURBULENTAS / ESTIMATING IRRIGATED WATERMELON EVAPOTRANSPIRATION USING SEBAL, SOIL-WATER BALANCE AND EDDY CORRELATIONS
In applications of the SEBAL (Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land) algorithm parameters for physical processes adjusted for other regions of the planet are commonly used. Therefore, there is a need for validation of the estimates made with the algorithm compared with other conventional methods of estimating evapotranspiration. Thus, this study main goa

Sensitivity of the WASP model the effects of atmospheric stability in Northeast Brazil.

12. ESTUDO DOS FLUXOS TURBULENTOS DE CALOR SENSÍVEL E LATENTE NO FUNDO DO VALE DO RIO DA PRATA
Three observational campaigns have been conducted in the region of Nova Roma do Sul, southern Brazil. In the last one of them, a micrometeorological tower was deployed above the river surface, at the bottom of the Prata river valley. The purpose was to characterize the exchange between the river surface and the atmosphere. The micrometeorological parameters
