1. Mollusk bycatch in trawl fisheries targeting the Atlantic seabob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri on the coast of Sergipe, northeastern Brazil
Abstract The malacofauna bycatch of sea-bob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) trawl fisheries on the coast of Sergipe was studied for 5 years. The malacofauna bycatch considered was obtained in nine oceanographic sampling campaigns carried out between May 1999 and June 2003 in 18 stations distributed in six transects along depths of 10, 20 and 30 m.

2. New records of the shrimp Periclimenes crinoidalis Chace, 1969 (Decapoda: Palaemonidae) and its crinoid host Nemaster grandis A.H. Clark, 1909 (Echinodermata: Crinoidea) in the Caribbean Sea
Abstract During exploratory trips conducted between August and December 2016, six shrimps, found in association with the crinoid Nemaster grandis A.H. Clark, 1909, ere collected in Chichiriviche de la Costa, Vargas State (Venezuela). A photographic record of the crinoids and the shrimps was conducted in situ. Shrimps were preserved in ethyl alcohol 90% and c

3. Genetic variation and evolutionary demography of Fenneropenaeus chinensis populations, as revealed by the analysis of mitochondrial control region sequences
Genetic variation and evolutionary demography of the shrimp Fenneropenaeus chinensis were investigated using sequence data of the complete mitochondrial control region (CR). Fragments of 993 bp of the CR were sequenced for 93 individuals from five localities over most of the species' range in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. There were 84 variable sites def

4. Analise das estrategias da pesca do camarão de São Francisco, São Sebastião-SP : pela Teoria do Forrageio Otimo / Analysis of the strategies of shrimp fishing in São Francisco, São Sebastião-SP : through the Optimal Foraging Theory
This study uses ecological models derived from the Optimal Foraging Theory (OFT) to understand the decision-making processes among bottom trawling shrimp fishermen at the São Francisco Neighborhood, in the district of São Sebastião, SP, Brazil. Using the theoretical background of Human Behavioral Ecology the aim of this work was to analyze fishermen s str

5. Influence of artificial magnetic fields upon the behavior of the shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (PENAEIDAE) and fish catch using fishtraps / InfluÃncia do campo magnÃtico artificial sobre o comportamento do camarÃo Litopenaeus Vannamei (PENAEIDAE) e a captura de peixes na pesca com covos
This work focuses on the behavior of marine organisms (fishes and shrimps) when submitted to artificial magnetic fields and on the use of this behavior as a mechanism to attract or to move away these organisms to/for specific areas. Although the geomagnetic field has existed in the planet a long time before of the beginning of the life rise little is known a

6. Análise financeira das pescarias de pequena escala no município de Florianópolis (SC) / Financial analysis of small-scale fisheries in the city of Florianópolis (SC)
This study sought to compare two types of communities of fishermen in the city of Florianópolis which differ in the environment where its members works: (1) bays and (2) the open sea. The main objectives of the study were to characterize the socioeconomic profile of small-scale fishermen, to describe the local fishing activity with respect to the means of p

7. A erosão costeira e sua influência sobre a atividade petrolífera: alternativas sustentáveis na mitigação de impactos ambientais
The study area consist in high sensitivity environments located on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Norte, Northeast Brazil. The barrier island are the main geomorphological features on the coastal landscape, being naturally instable and surrounded by industrial activities like oil fields, salt industry, shrimp farms and urban areas sometimes installed pa

8. Capacidade de Retenção de Fósforo e Material Particulado em Suspensão por Manguezal de Área Impactada por Efluentes da Carcinicultura. / Phosphorus retention capacity and Suspension of Particulate Matter in Mangrove Area impacted by effluents from Shrimp.
The mangrove forests stabilize the coastal erosion zone and act as a buffering between the continent and the sea. This forest presents high resilient degree, suggested to be used as marker of environmental changes. They play an important role in the energy flow and nutrients cycles. They are suffering with the growth of shrimp ponds. This tends to be respons

10. Biology of Isopisthus parvipinnis: an abundant sciaenid species captured bycatch during sea-bob shrimp fishery in Brazil

11. Qualidade do camarão da espécie Xyphopenaeus kroyeri mediante a ação dos agentes antimelanóticos / Quality of shrimp Xyphopenaeus kroyeri submitted to antimelanotic agents
Sea shrimp captured in the Brazilian coast represents an important segment of the seafood particularly due to the market value. Being a highly perishable food, it requests special cares for commercialization, conservation and industrialization. The control of the quality begins as soon as post-capture in the vessel. The immediate operations accomplished afte

Marine aquaculture has developed in the last decades all over the world, especially related to shrimp management. In Brazil, the introduction of the species Litopenaeus vannamei has contributed to the success of the activity, even if there are problems associated with the management of a exotic species, such as new diseases and ecological pressure on native
