1. Spatial analysis of leishmaniasis in Brazil: a systematized review
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review of scientific papers that used spatial analysis tools in cases of leishmaniasis, in Brazil. The search for articles was carried out in PubMed, SciELO, Scopus and Web of Science databases. The keywords used in the identification of the articles were Thematic map AND Leishmaniasis, Spatial analy

2. SPATIAL OUTLIERS DETECTION ALGORITHM (SODA) APPLIED TO MULTIBEAM BATHYMETRIC DATA PROCESSING
Abstract: The amount of data produced in an echosounder has increased dramatically with scanning systems such as multibeam echo sounders and interferometric sonars, providing a considerable improvement in the submerged terrain representation, especially when it comes to detecting hazardous objects to the navigator. However, the available processing algorithm

3. Effects of primary productivity on beta diversity of ecological communities

4. INDE METADATA CONFORMITY INDICATOR
Abstract Metadata represents a set of descriptive information about the data, which aims at facilitating the search, access and use of data. The metadata standards specify the minimum set of elements to be informed and the file structure to ensure interoperability among catalogs. The present work aims at analyzing the adherence of the metadata published in t

5. Spatiotemporal ecology of two Neotropical herbivorous mammals
Abstract On this study, we used camera traps in a Semi deciduous Seasonal Forest, northeast of Brazil, to estimate the frequencies of occurrence of two Neotropical herbivorous mammals: the spotted paca (Cuniculus paca) and the tapeti (Sylvilagus brasiliensis), analyzing their seasonal variations of spatial distribution. We also characterized the activity pat

6. Influence of head and linear growth on the development of malocclusion at six years of age: a cohort study
Abstract The aim of this article was to evaluate the influence of biological and sociobehavioral factors on the development of malocclusions in children. This is a cross-sectional study nested in a cohort of 350 children who participated in a community intervention study. After six years, an active search identified 290 children with occlusal abnormalities.

7. Scientometrical review of Dinoflagellate studies in Brazil
ABSTRACT Scientific production in developing countries is currently increasing, but there is still an unbalanced distribution of scientific production between developed and developing countries. With the need to elucidate disparities in scientific production, this paper aims to review publications on dinoflagellates in Brazil by discussing spatial and tempor

8. Spatial distribution of leprosy in Brazil: a literature review
Abstract Leprosy remains a public health problem in developing countries. Among communicable diseases, it is one of the leading causes of permanent disability. Brazil had not reached the goal of reducing cases to less than 1 per 10,000 population. This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of leprosy cases in Brazil, using a literature review. The

9. Citizen science participation in research in the environmental sciences: key factors related to projects’ success and longevity
ABSTRACT The potential impacts of citizen science initiatives are increasing across the globe, albeit in an imbalanced manner. In general, there is a strong element of trial and error in most projects, and the comparison of best practices and project structure between different initiatives remains difficult. In Brazil, the participation of volunteers in envi

10. SPATIAL CORRELATION OF SOYBEAN PRODUCTIVITY, ENHANCED VEGETATION INDEX (EVI) AND AGROMETEOROLOGICAL VARIABLES
ABSTRACT The survey information from growing regions, the interaction with the vegetation index and climatic variables is of great importance in the search for soybean productivity increase. Paraná is the second largest soybean producer in Brazil and presents great spatial variability, both in periods of the crop cycle as in soil and climate. The objective

11. Protocol for collecting Mutillidae (Hymenoptera, Aculeata) in ecological studies: species-area effects on Mutillidae communities
ABSTRACT The species-area relationship is one of the most consistent patterns in ecology, and fragmentation is a major cause of habitat loss. Environmental changes in a site can affect the spatial distribution of organisms. Knowledge of Mutillidae ecology is still scarce due to the lack of standardized sampling. Our aim was to: (1) determine the effect of ha

12. A protocol for measuring spatial variables in soft-sediment tide pools
ABSTRACT We present a protocol for measuring spatial variables in large (>50 m2) soft-sediment tide pool. Secondarily, we present the fish capture efficiency of a sampling protocol that based on such spatial variables to calculate relative abundances. The area of the pool is estimated by summing areas of basic geometric forms; the depth, by taken representat
