1. Grupos split metacíclicos e formas espaciais esféricas metacíclicas / Split metacyclic groups and split metacyclic spherical space forms

2. Reidemeister torsion of spherical space forms / Torção de Reidemeister das formas espaciais esféricas
In this work, we study the action of the generalized quaternionic groups Q IND.4ton the spheres to compute the Reidemeister torsion of the quotient spaces, which are called Quaternionic Spherical Space Forms. Using the base of the homology defined by Ray and Singer in [27] we compute also the Ray-Singer torsion of the spheres, lens spaces and the cone over t

3. MINIMAL AND CONSTANT MEAN CURVATURE EQUIVARIANT HYPERSURFACES IN S(N) AND H(N) / HIPERSUPERFÍCIES EQUIVARIANTES MÍNIMAS E COM CURVATURA MÉDIA CONSTANTE EM S(N) E H(N)
In this work we study equivariant hypersurfaces in S(n) and H(n) which are minimal or have constant mean curvature. These hypersurfaces are described via a curve in S(2) and H(2) respectively, called the generating curve. In the equivariant case, the constant mean curvature equation reduces to an ODE on the generating curve, which can be reduced by one varia

4. Vector bundles over tridimensional spherical space forms / Fibrados vetoriais sobre "spherical space forms" tridimensionais

In the last years several asteroids had their shapes identified using images from space probes or through the indirect radar data determination. In a general way, these asteroids have forms quite different from spherical. Conventional spherical harmonic representations of the gravitational potential of such bodies require expansions of high degree and order,

6. Visualization of Protein-RNA Interactions in Cytoplasmic Polyhedrosis Virus
Unlike the multiple-shelled organization of other Reoviridae members, cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (CPV) has a single-shelled capsid. The three-dimensional structures of full and empty CPV by electron cryomicroscopy show identical outer shells but differ inside. The outer surface reveals a T=1 icosahedral shell decorated with spikes at its icosahedral vert

7. Enhancement of protein-protein association rate by interaction potential: accuracy of prediction based on local Boltzmann factor.
Electrostatic interactions are known experimentally to enhance the rate of protein-protein association by three to four orders of magnitude. However, theoretical efforts to quantitatively account for such rate enhancement have been hampered by the need to consider a large number of relative configurations of two associating proteins sampled during their diff

8. Possible role of Escherichia coli penicillin-binding protein 6 in stabilization of stationary-phase peptidoglycan.
Plasmids for high-level expression of penicillin-binding protein 6 (PBP6) were constructed, giving rise to overproduction of PBP6 under the control of the lambda pR promoter in either the periplasmic or the cytoplasmic space. In contrast to penicillin-binding protein 5 (PBP5), the presence of high amounts of PBP6 in the periplasm as well as in the cytoplasm
