1. Crescimento, estrutura e magnetismo de filmes ultrafinos de Ni depositados sobre Pd(100)
In this work, the growth mode, the structure and the magnetic behavior of ultrathin Ni films epitaxially grown over Pd(100) were investigated using in-situ experimental techniques ass RHEED, LEED, AES, MBE and MOKE, and ex-situ VSM. The objective was to study the influence of the stress induced by the lattice parameter mismatch of the materials (10,4%), the

2. CARACTERIZACÃO DAS PROPRIEDADES ESTRUTURAIS E MAGNÉTICAS DA SÉRIE SmFe1xMnxO3. / CHARACTERIZATION OF THE PROPERTIES STRUCTURAL MAGNETIC AND SERIES SmFe1 xMnxO3.
In this work we synthesized sample of the series SmFe1xMnxO3 , in which 1 x 0 whit variation of x = 0:1. Our main objective was the structural and magnetic characterization of the compounds. First, to the best of our knowledge, these samples were obtained by the combustion reaction method, with which we achieve success in obtaining unique polycrystalline pha

3. Estudo das propriedades magnéticas e magnetocalóricas em compostos RZn (R= Tb, Gd, Ho e Er) / Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Rzn compounds (R= TB, Gd, Ho and Er)

4. Estudo do efeito magnetocalórico em sistemas magnéticos com terras raras / Study of the magnetocarolic effect in magnetic systems with rare earths

5. Structure, morphology and magnetism of an ultra-thin [NiO/CoO]/PtCo bilayer with perpendicular exchange bias
Electronic and magnetic properties of nanoscale materials are closely related to the atomic arrangement at the interface shared by different chemical elements. A very precise knowledge of the surface/interface structure is then essential to properly interpret the new properties coming out. Of a particular interest is the relationship between structure, morph

6. Efeito Kerr magneto-óptico espectral e sperimagnetismo de filmes amorfos de terra rara-Co / Spectral magneto-optical Kerr effect and magnetism-speri of the films of amorphous rare earth-Co
We have observed the spectral behavior of the transverse magnetooptical Kerr effect (TMOKE) in thin films of rare earth - cobalt amorphous alloys for the visible and the near-ultraviolet ranges of spectrurn (wavelength fiom 325 nm up to 670 nm). The relative change of reflectivity has shown a maximum at the blue wavelength. We have concluded that this magnet

7. Transições de fase e propriedades magneticas de compostos R-T
In this work we studied intrinsic and extrinsic magnetic properties of rare earth-transition metals compounds. The intrinsic magnetic properties of R(Fe,M)12 intermetallic compounds was systematically investigated. Emphasis was given to the determination of magnetic phase transitions and magnetocrystalline anisotropy field. Measurements of the temperature de

8. Estudo de anisotropia magnética nos compostos intermetálicos ErFe3Hx e (Er1-x Gdx)Fe3 por espectroscopia Mössbauer no 57Fe
The magnetic anisotropy in the ternary hydrides ErFe3Hx and in the pseudobinary (Eri _ x Gd x )Fe3 compounds has been studied by 57 Fe Mdssbauer spectroscopy. ErFe3 shows a spin reorientation from basal plane above 47 K to the C axis below this temperature. The direction of the magnetization is the result of a competition between the crystal field anisotropy

9. Calculation of electron paramagnetic resonance spectra from Brownian dynamics trajectories: application to nitroxide side chains in proteins.
We present a method to simulate electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of spin-labeled proteins that explicitly includes the protein structure in the vicinity of the attached spin label. The method is applied to a spin-labeled polyleucine alpha-helix trimer. From short (6 ns) stochastic dynamics simulations of this trimer, an effective potential energy func

10. Carbon-13 NMR relaxation studies of pre-melt structural dynamics in [4-13C-uracil] labeled E. coli transfer RNAIVal.
We report 67.8 MHz carbon-13 spin-lattice relaxation studies on [4-13C-uracil] labeled tRNAIVal purified from E. coli SO-187. Following 13C-enriched C4 carbonyl resonances from modified and unsubstituted uridines scattered throughout the polymer backbone enables us to determine dynamical features in both loop and helical stem regions. The experimental result

11. Preliminary analysis of 1H and 13C spectral and relaxation behavior in methionine-enkephalin.
Nuclear magnetic resonance studies on the conformational dynamics of the pentapeptide H-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Met-OH are reported. This peptide, for which the generic trivial name "methionine-enkephalin" has been suggested, is pharmacologically active as a ligand for the mammalian opiate receptor(s). The studies reported are parallel investigations in two solvents

12. Molecular reorganization of lipid bilayers by complement: a possible mechanism for membranolysis.
The interaction between the membrane attack complex (MAC) of complement and flat lipid bilayers was investigated. Using spin-labeled derivatives of phospholipids and cholesterol and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, we measured the penetration of the MAC into bilayers and its influence on the order of bilayers. The MAC precursor components C5b--6
