1. Growth and distribution endogenously determined: a theoretical model and empirical evidence

2. A economia brasileira puxada pela demanda agregada
The Brazilian economy pulled by the aggregate demand. This article aims to present the demand-led growth theory and some empirical evidences for a demand-led growth regime in Brazil. First of all, we will do a brief review of the theory of demand led-growth, based in the seminal work of Kaldor (1988), for whom long-run growth is determined by the growth rate

4. Uma abordagem da hipótese da neutralidade da moeda usando dados do Brasil pós-Real / An approach to the hypothesis of neutrality of money using data from Brazil after the Real Plan
The hypothesis of neutrality of money is the theoretical framework of the Quantity Theory of Money (QTM), which is based from the Fishers equation of exchange, assuming that the income-velocity of money is constant, the real output is exogenously determined by nonmonetary variables, such as technology, capital stock and labor supply. But the real output is t

7. A New Labor Theory of Value for Rational Planning Through Use of the Bourgeois Profit Rate
To maximaze steady-state per capita consumptions, goods should be valued at their “synchronized labor requirement costs”, which are shown to deviate from Marx's schemata of “values” but to coincide with bourgeois prices calculated at dated labor requirements, marked-up by compound interest, at a profit or interest rate equal to the system's rate of e

8. Guanosine 5'-diphosphate 3'-diphosphate (ppGpp): positive effector for histidine operon transcription and general signal for amino-acid deficiency.
Maximal expression of the histidine operon of Salmonella typhimurium in a coupled in vitro transcription-translation system is strongly dependent upon addition of guanosine 5'-diphosphate 3'-diphosphate (ppGpp). This requirement for ppGpp is exerted at the level of transcription through a mechanism distinct from the his-operon-specific regulatory mechanism.

9. Energy coupling in the active transport of amino acids by bacteriohodopsin-containing cells of Halobacterium holobium.
Growth of Halobacterium halobium under illumination with limiting aeration induces bacteriorhodopsin formation and renders the cells capable of photophosphorylation. Cells depleted of endogenous reserves by a starvation treatment were used to investigate the means by which energy is coupled to the active transport of [14C]proline, -leucine, and -histidine. P
