1. Synthesis of TiO2/ZnO photoanodes on FTO conductive glass for photovoltaic applications
Abstract For oxide semiconductors for application in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), titanium dioxide conjugated with zinc oxide thin films was synthesized and characterized. The UV (ultraviolet) spectrum characterization showed a peak of absorbance at around 355 nm, with a band gap of 3.25 eV and reflectance around 85%. Such characteristics allowed the

3. Photodegradation study of TiO2 and ZnO in suspension using miniaturized tests
ABSTRACT Miniaturization has been a trend in the instrumentation of chemical analyzes. The interest in miniaturization stems from the perceived benefits of faster, easier, less expensive and less wasteful analyzes than the tradition analyses. Thus, this work proposes a miniaturization of photocatalytic tests using a microplate reader for the analysis of seve

4. Morphological and Structural Variations in Anodic Films grown on Polished and Electropolished Titanium Substrates
The objective of this work was to investigate the effects of anodization parameters on the anatase phase formation of titanium oxide films, which have been grown on both electropolished and non-electropolished titanium surfaces by direct current anodization in 0.25 and 2.5 mol L-1 H3PO4 solutions, respectively, at three anodization times (3, 6 and 12 hours).

5. Facile One-Step Electrodeposition Fabrication of Amorphous MoS2 Catalysts in Titanium for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
Hydrogen is seen as a future energy carrier that will assist the global energy fuel demand. However, it is still necessary to study efficient and inexpensive catalysts that can be used on a large scale to make this technology practical. In this paper the electrodeposition of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) film on titanium (Ti) substrate was performed by cyclic

6. Study of the structural and morphological properties of copper catalysts supported on Al2O3 and TiO2 synthesized by the impregnation method
ABSTRACT Aluminum oxide and titanium oxide are widely used as catalytic support. Due to their characteristics and properties, they have several applications such as chemical processes, photocatalysis and pollution control. In this work, the catalytic supports of Al2O3 and TiO2 were impregnated with 2% of copper oxide by the method of impregnation. The cataly

7. Recombination Study of Dye Sensitized Solar Cells with Natural Extracts
Natural dyes can be used in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) to generate low-cost devices, although with low light harvesting because of energy losses from the recombination process. This study investigates recombination reactions in DSSCs with natural dyes extracted from eggplants, plums, and hibiscus flowers. Titanium dioxide films were coated on a fluor

8. Estudio de los parámetros de proceso del anodizado por plasma químico en Ti-6Al-4V ELI para implantes dentales
ABSTRACT In order to study the variation effect of some parameters of micro-arc oxidation process (MAO) on Ti-6Al-4V samples for dental implants, several treatments were carried out under different conditions of current density, exposure time and electrolyte chemical composition. These processes resulted in generated bioactive titanium oxide surface coatings

9. Surface, microstructural, and adhesion strength investigations of a bioactive hydroxyapatite-titanium oxide ceramic coating applied to Ti-6Al-4V alloys by plasma thermal spraying
Ti-6Al-4V alloy is employed in implants because of its good mechanical strength, excellent biocompatibility, and good resistance to corrosion in biological environments. Herein, a composite (HAp-TiO2, 50% by volume of both components) coating surface employing Ti-6Al-4V was characterized. Samples were analyzed post fabrication and post heat treatment to anal

10. Development of a Novel Mixed Titanium, Silver Oxide Polyacrylonitrile Nanofiber as a Superior Adsorbent and its Application for MB Removal in Wastewater Treatment
In this study, a novel electrospun nanofibrous composite was synthesized from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and well-dispersed oxide nanoparticles containing Ti and Ag (PAN-TA). The nanoparticles incorporated into the nanofibers can endow the composite with photocatalytic and antimicrobial ability. The morphologies and structure of the nanofibers were characterize

11. KINETIC BEHAVIOR OF SOME AZO DYES DECOLORIZATION BY VARIATION OF ZINC OXIDE AND TITANIUM DIOXIDE CONCENTRATIONS
The decolorization of three monoazo dyes (acid orange 7, direct orange 34, and methyl orange), one diazo dye (direct yellow 86) and one tetraazo dye (direct red 80) were mediated by n-type semiconductors as ZnO and TiO2 under pseudo-first order conditions at 30 ºC. The decolorization rate constants of these azo dyes were determined, varying the semiconducto
