1. Prevalence of Tinnitus in Patients Diagnosed with Cerebral Arteriovenous Fistula Treated with Endovascular Technique
Abstract Introduction Tinnitus is characterized as the conscious and involuntary perception of sound, and it affects ~ 30% of the population. Despite careful physical examination, the etiology of tinnitus can be established for only 30% of patients. Tinnitus is a common symptom of cerebral arteriovenous fistulas and results from increased blood flow through

3. Peppermint essential oil as an anesthetic for and toxicity to juvenile silver catfish

Eletroencefalograma na neuroemergência : impacto na avaliação de pacientes com alteração do estado de consciência e em pacientes na fase a hiperaguda do AVC = Electroencephalogram in neuroemergency : impact in the evaluation of patients with impairment of consciousness and patients in the hyperacute phase of stroke / Electroencephalogram in neuroemergency : impact in the evaluation of patients with impairment of consciousness and patients in the hyperacute phase of stroke
Title: Electroencephalogram in the Neuroemergency: Impact on evaluation of patients with impairment of consciousness and patients on hyperacute phase of stroke Introduction: The EEG is an inexpensive tool, but not available during out of business hours in most emergency departments. Our work was divided into two chapters: Impact of EEG in the diagnosis and m

6. Selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibition protects against myocardial damage in experimental acute ischemia
BACKGROUND: Acute myocardial infarction is associated with tissue inflammation. Early coronary reperfusion clearly improves the outcome but may help propagate the inflammatory response and enhance tissue damage. Cyclooxygenase-2 is an enzyme that catalyzes the initial step in the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. Cyclooxygenase-

7. Trombose venosa cerebral: evolução clínica e fatores prognósticos em 111 pacientes / Cererbal venous thrombosis: clinical outcome and prognostic factors in 111 patients
Introduction: The cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) clinical evolution is quite variable from complete recovery to death. Some European series and a multicenter study had identified prognostic factors related to CVT prognosis. The identification of these factors is important for the best therapeutic decision to patients. This study aims to identify the progno

8. Alterações plasmáticas do cobre e do zinco em crianças submetidas a cirurgia cardíaca com circulação extracorpórea
The cardiac surgery, comprising extracorporeal circulation, is known to trigger oxidative stress due to the formation of reactive oxygen species and free radicals during the periods of ischemia and reperfusion. They are hazardous to the heart cell components and regarded as responsible for the myocardial stunned. These processes are intricately associated wi

9. Estudo comparativo da localização do seio venoso sagital dorsal no crânio de cães braquicefálicos e mesaticefálicos para craniotomia transfrontal / Comparative evaluation of the dorsal sagittal sinus localization on braquicephaly and mesaticephaly skulls to transfrontal craniotomy
The surgical approaches for craniotomy are describe since the fifties. However, this realization is limited, many times for the absence conclusive diagnosis. The non invasive methods like computed tomography, the lesion locatization and type are easily made. The most important surgical approach is transfrontal craniotomy which promoves brain access.
