4. Physiological basis for enduring vestibular symptoms
Four examples of patients who sustained a vestibular insult and did not fully recover over a prolonged period are described. 1. In the guinea-pig, a unilateral labyrinthectomy induces postural disturbances and an ocular nystagmus which abate or disappear over time.
